My history on the web

Life has this amazing ability to lead us down unexpected paths. For me, that path began in the fast-paced world of catering. Every day was a ballet of flavours, encounters and challenges. However, like so many of us, the COVID-19 pandemic was a turning point. It gave me a break, a chance to think about what I really wanted. And that’s how I plunged into the vast world of web development.

Changing careers is never an easy decision. Leaving a field that I knew well to launch myself into the unknown, going back to training, all that was a major challenge. But today I can say with certainty that I have no regrets. The world of web development is fascinating, constantly evolving, and every day brings its own new discoveries.

My curiosity quickly led me to the Symfony Framework. I was seduced by its robustness, its well thought-out structure and, above all, its insistence on code quality. Symfony isn’t just a tool, it’s a philosophy, an approach that emphasises efficiency and clarity.

As I explored further, I discovered the richness of the Symfony ecosystem. I played around with different CMSs and tools based on Symfony, such as Sylius and Sulu. These experiences helped me understand the versatility of Symfony. It’s not just a framework, it’s a library of packages used by a multitude of platforms, including CMSs, CRMs, e-commerce solutions and many others.

Developing my skills around Symfony has been an adventure in itself. Every project, every line of code, has brought me closer to mastering this powerful tool. And I can’t wait to see where this road takes me next.

In conclusion, my transition from the restaurant business to web development has been a rewarding adventure. Thanks to Symfony, I’ve discovered a passion for quality code and a dynamic community ready to share its knowledge. And I’m enthusiastic about the idea of continuing to grow and learn in this exciting field.

What’s next?

Creating a website is a fascinating process. It starts with a simple idea, a vision. This vision takes shape in a mock-up, where every element is carefully thought out and placed. Then comes development, where this vision is brought to life through code, giving rise to an interactive interface and dynamic functionalities. And finally, the long-awaited moment: online deployment, making the project accessible to everyone, everywhere in the world.

My website is also a window on myself. It reflects my passions, interests and opinions. Whether it’s the films I’ve seen at the cinema, the series I’ve devoured or my take on the latest tech news, like the recent Apple keynote, I share it all here. It’s a space where I can express myself freely and connect with other enthusiasts.

You might be wondering why I chose WordPress for my blog, especially given my love of Symfony? The answer is simple: WordPress is designed for blogging. It’s optimised for that, with all the necessary functionality at your fingertips. Why reinvent the wheel when a proven solution already exists? It’s a question of choosing the right tool for the right job.

But my journey doesn’t stop there. I’m always looking for new challenges, new technologies to explore. My next goal? Mobile development. After mastering the world of the web, it makes sense to turn to mobile applications. I’m particularly attracted to native development, with the ambition of becoming an iOS/Mac OS developer. For me, it’s essential to respect users’ privacy. I firmly believe that everyone should have the choice of whether or not to share their data, without ever being forced to do so. Personal data is precious and must be treated with the utmost care.

In conclusion, my journey in the world of web development and beyond is an ongoing adventure. With each project, I discover, learn and grow. And I can’t wait to see where this passion takes me next.
